Diploma Master Brewer

The Diploma Master Brewer education is a scientific and technical based Master education at University of Copenhagen, Department of Food Science combined with 6 months of practical production experience from the brewing industry.

Target audience
Master students in Food Science and Technology at University of Copenhagen who has chosen the specialisation ‘Brewing Science and Technology’.

Entry qualifications
A Bachelor degree in food science, chemical engineering, pharmacy, chemistry, biology, biotechnology or similar qualifications.

Internship

To become Diploma Master Brewer, nine months of documented practical experience is required. Candidates with the master specialisation in Brewing Science and Technology at University of Copenhagen already have three months internship in the course “Brewing Project in Practice”. So only six more months of practice is required.

Written reports are required from each of the six areas: malting, brewhouse, fermentation (incl. filtration), packaging, soft drinks and utilities.
